Player Programs – Overview

Prairie Fire FC provides a complete player pathway designed to give every child a place to play, develop and belong.

All Prairie Fire FC programs are science-informed and aligned with Canada Soccer’s Grassroots Standards and Long-Term Player Development model. Our programs are built around how players learn, grow and enjoy the game at each stage of development.

Whether a player is touching a ball for the first time, looking for a positive team experience, ready for competitive soccer or seeking additional individual development, Prairie Fire FC has a program for them.

One Club. Four Programs. A Place for Every Player.

Foundations | U3–U7

Play. Learn. Belong.

Foundations is where the Prairie Fire FC journey begins. These fun, age-appropriate programs introduce young players to soccer through movement, play and time with the ball.

Foundations programs run in eight-week sessions, allowing families to choose the season (Fall, Winter, Spring) that works best for them while giving players a positive and manageable introduction to the game.

Our Foundations pathway includes:

  • Little Sparks – U3
  • Fire Starters – U5
  • Rising Flame – U7

The focus is on confidence, coordination, creativity and helping every child develop a love for soccer.

Club | U9–U17

Play. Grow. Belong.

Club soccer is for players who want to learn, improve and enjoy being part of a team in a positive, inclusive environment.

The Club program emphasizes technical development, game understanding, friendships and long-term participation. Players receive age-appropriate training and meaningful game opportunities without development being driven by short-term results.

Club is a great fit for new players, returning players and multi-sport athletes who want quality soccer while maintaining balance with other activities.

Performance | U9–U17

Develop Today. Compete Tomorrow. Achieve Together.

Performance is for players seeking increased training, structured competition and a greater commitment to their development.

Players train in a more demanding environment focused on technical ability, tactical understanding, athletic development, decision-making and competitive habits. Teams may participate in league play, the Forge Spring Soccer League, tournaments and other appropriate competitions.

Performance remains development-first. Winning matters, but it never comes before the long-term growth, confidence or well-being of the player.

Academy | U9–U17

Develop Today. Elevate Tomorrow. Lead for Life.

Academy provides additional development opportunities outside regular Club and Performance team programming.

Academy offerings may include:

  • Goalkeeper training
  • Position-specific training
  • Technical skills sessions
  • Small-group development
  • Individual training
  • Camps and specialty programs

Players do not need to participate in games or join a specific team to access Academy programming. It is available to players who want extra touches, focused instruction or support in a specific area of their game.

Program Fee Structure

Prairie Fire FC is committed to being transparent about registration fees. Program fees vary by age group, season and pathway based on the training, facilities, equipment, coaching and competition provided.

Registration fees may support:

  • Saskatchewan Soccer Association registration and insurance
  • Facility and field usage
  • Equipment
  • Program administration and operations
  • Coach education and development
  • League and competition expenses
  • Coach travel associated with Performance programming

Current registration fees will be displayed when registration opens.

Annual Club and Performance Fee

Players participating in the Club or Performance programs are charged a one-time annual Prairie Fire FC fee.

This fee is paid only once during the annual soccer year, even if the player participates in more than one Club or Performance season. It supports the year-round infrastructure required to operate and develop the club, its coaches and its player pathway.

Additional costs for items such as personalized uniforms, optional tournaments, travel or specialty programming may apply. These costs will always be communicated in advance.

Foundations and Academy programs are registered and paid for separately based on the individual eight-week session, camp or training opportunity selected.
