About Praire fire FC

Established in 1976, Weyburn Soccer Association has spent 50 years growing the game and creating opportunities for players in Weyburn and the surrounding area.

What began as a grassroots community program developed into a club offering soccer for players of all ages and abilities. Over the years, thousands of players have taken their first kicks with Weyburn Soccer, built lifelong friendships, competed across the province and developed a lasting love for the game.

Our history was built by dedicated volunteers, coaches, families and community supporters. Their commitment created the foundation we stand on today and allowed soccer to become an important part of our community.

As the game has evolved, so have the needs of our players and families. Our future is Prairie Fire FC—a new identity representing the next chapter of soccer in Weyburn. Prairie Fire FC connects our history with a stronger, more unified player pathway, from a child’s first experience with the ball to community, competitive and advanced development opportunities.

The Prairie Fire FC name reflects who we are and where we come from: proud, hardworking and deeply rooted in the Prairies. It gives our players one identity to grow with and creates a clearer pathway that keeps more players learning, competing and developing close to home.

Our goal is not to leave Weyburn Soccer’s history behind. It is to build on everything that has been created since 1976. Prairie Fire FC will carry that legacy forward through age-appropriate training, game-based learning, stronger coaching and programming designed to meet every player where they are.

We believe rural players deserve access to quality soccer opportunities without feeling they must leave their community to pursue their goals. By investing in local development and working with regional partners, we can strengthen soccer in Weyburn while helping protect and grow the game throughout rural Saskatchewan.

The name may be changing, but our purpose remains the same: to provide safe, positive and meaningful soccer experiences where every player feels supported, valued and inspired to grow.
