Guidelines for Representative Team Coaches & Managers
The Board of Directors will assign all coaching positions upon the recommendation of the Coaches Committee.
All coaches and managers must have CPIC clearance prior to any participation.
All coaches must have appropriate certification.
Each team must have at least one coach or manager of the same gender as the players. Manager must sit on the bench during games.
Each team must have a manager to assist in scheduling and finances.
Each team must have approval from WSA prior to any practice or games.
All players must sign and return WSA Code of Conduct prior to any games.
All players on a representative team must be registered in WSA or have completed the proper transfer.
All players, coaches and managers must have completed identification cards before taking part in any tournaments or provincial competition.
It is the responsibility of the Head Coach to ensure that the team manger completes all registration forms, travel permits, pays all entry fees and meets all entry deadlines for any competitions.
Meeting deadlines for entering provincial Play downs are the responsibility of the Head Coach. This information is available from the technical director, the SSA website or the Registrar.
WSA will not collect entry fees from WSA teams entered in WSA tournaments.
WSA will pay all referee and assistant referee fees incurred by representative teams playing home games.
WSA will not advance any representative teams any monies for any reason other than tournament entry fees.
The coaches and manager in consultation with the players’ parents will determine team fees.
Each representative team has 2 seats on the board of directors, which may be filled by the coach and manager or by parents of players.
All team wear must be WSA team wear.
WSA will provide club jerseys and field equipment for up to 18 field players and 2 goalkeepers. In addition WSA will provide gloves, shorts or pants for goalkeepers. Shorts, socks and shin pads are the player’s responsibility.
All players must provide a refundable cheque for $50.00 to receive their team jerseys. Cheques will be returned at the end of the season when jerseys are returned.
All players on any representative team must continue to play in the recreational division. Failure to attend regularly may result in suspension from the representative team. A minimum of 2/3 of house league must be played.
All Representative teams are allowed one practice or game during the week (Monday to Friday) in addition to twice weekly recreation division games and weekend games or tournaments. A team may have one weekend training session if it has no games that weekend.
All Representative team tournaments must be sanctioned by WSA.
